Singing Telegram

Oh I'm your Singing Telegram and I have some things to say.
John, your beloved husband, and the maid have run away.
Your three kids are tearing up the house and playing hooky today.
You took that job, I told you not to, what good did it bring anyway?

I saw your bills when I was at your house this morning
How will you manage to pay, those say Final Warning?
Your Great Aunt Gertie died today, will you be mourning?
I'm organizing the table seating for the wake, the tables turning.

You never call me anymore, just like you to be ungrateful
I tried to steer you down the right path so your life would be wonderful.
Instead you disobeyed, eloped with a man who proved unfaithful.
Now come home daughter and lets skip those words most hateful.

Love, your Mother
