Pockets
She holds her dress before her,
Hands buried in their pockets,
Spreading the skirt between them.
Basking in the compliments,
Grinning at the envy,
Of the pocketless ones.
Girls with mink lashes,
Acrylic nails snapping,
Throttled by their purse straps,
Juggling keys and lip gloss.
It takes some searching,
To find the dresses with pockets.
Face toward the sun,
She holds her pockets wide,
And spins.
