Red yellow orange and black
Such colors of crepe paper
Twisting and vining
Staggering drunkenly up the walls
Fragile and festive decor
Paper tearing softly
Sandpaper whisper
And the afternoon wears onward
Towards the party
To the regrets to come
Spiraling from past failures
Torn like the crepe chains
A tattered soul
But such colors
Blinded but sight intrudes
Streaming into screaming
And so it goes
Until the dawn returns
